MICEBTN – Flight simulators at second Singaporean AOH

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is organising its second Aviation Open House (AOH).

To be held at D’Marquee at Downtown East from 03 – 05 November 2011, AOH 2011 will showcase the multi-faceted aviation industry and present career, education and training opportunities available.

More than 8,000 people are expected to visit the Open House over the three days.

“Held in a year when Singapore is celebrating 100 years of aviation, the Aviation Open House 2011 aims to ignite young Singaporeans’ passion for

aviation,” said Yap Ong Heng, director-general, CAAS. “It will give them a comprehensive panorama of the many exciting and rewarding opportunities provided by the aviation industry, and allow them to experience the buzz of aviation. With its manpower demands set to increase further, encouraging young Singaporeans to join the industry is essential to developing and sustaining the talent and human resource pool for the industry’s further growth.”

A range of booths and displays are on show at AOH 2011. From the Singapore Aviation Centennial multi-media display, which includes the winning entries of the “Aviation Inspirations” photography competition, to the AOH Central Exhibition itself, visitors can gain a better appreciation of the aviation ecosystem and the important role that each sector plays.

Special highlights of AOH 2011 include flight training simulators where visitors can ‘fly’ their own aircraft in a simulated cockpit environment and indoor kite-flying workshops. In addition, eight aviation-themed game booths, ranging from puzzle boards to Wii flying games, will test the dexterity and co-ordination of participants.
